Surgical Precision. Fixing Specific Deficiencies.

High-intensity, small-group tuition tailored to diagnose and correct specific mechanical habits.

What We Teach

Micro-Correction & “Surgical” Details In a standard team practice with 18 players, it is impossible for a coach to correct every biomechanical error. Bad habits—like planting the foot too wide, leaning back on a shot, or scanning too late—often go unnoticed for years.

Our semi-private soccer training changes that. With a strict ratio of 1 coach to 4 players, there is nowhere to hide. We focus on “Micro-Corrections”: fixing the angle of the ankle, the timing of the hip turn, and the weight of the pass down to the inch.

We cover:

  • Weak Foot Fluency: Turning a “swinger” leg into a weapon through high-volume repetition.

  • Video Analysis: (Optional) Using slow-motion playback to show a player exactly what they are doing versus what they feel they are doing.

  • Positional IQ: Tailored advice for midfielders, defenders, and strikers that general clinics cannot provide.

The FTBL Difference

Better Than 1-on-1? Yes. Many parents assume that 1-on-1 private coaching is the gold standard. While it has its place, soccer is a game of interaction. A player training alone against cones never learns to deal with a defender.

Semi-private training offers the perfect “Goldilocks” environment: it provides the individual attention of a private lesson with the realistic pressure of a game. In our small groups, players must execute their skills against a live defender, forcing them to make decisions, not just movements. This creates “functional technique”—skill that actually works on Saturday mornings, not just in an empty park.

The Outcome

The goal is Correction & Mastery. We fix bad habits before they become permanent and install new techniques that stick.

Frequently Asked Questions about Private Training

Question 1: Can I build my own group?

Yes! This is our most popular option. If you have 2–4 teammates who want to train together, “Build Your Own Group” is the most effective way to improve chemistry. We can tailor the entire curriculum to your specific team’s needs (e.g., “our defenders need to work on playing out of the back”).

Question 2: My child is a beginner. Is semi-private training too intense?

Not at all. In fact, semi-private training is often the best environment for beginners because it removes the anxiety of a large crowd. The coach can slow down the pace, hold the player’s hand (metaphorically), and build confidence step-by-step without the pressure of 15 other kids watching.

Question 3: How is this different from the “Foundation” classes?

Foundation classes follow a set curriculum for a larger group (general skill building). Semi-Private sessions are diagnostic and prescriptive. We look at the specific player, identify their unique deficiencies (e.g., “poor first touch with the left foot”), and design the session specifically to fix that problem.

Question 4: Do you offer strictly 1-on-1 Private Coaching?

Yes, we offer 1-on-1 sessions for specific needs (e.g., returning from injury, specific mechanical overhauls). However, for long-term development, we highly recommend transitioning to small groups (2-4 players) as soon as possible to reintroduce decision-making and opposition.
